In 1999, the girls released a low-budget recording titled Under Feet Like Ours.Īttention from Under Feet Like Ours soon landed the twins on Neil Young's label Vapor Records. When they were seventeen, someone anonymously entered the twins into a battle of the bands, which jump-started their career as a live group.
From ages eight to fifteen, the girls played piano, but they turned to acoustic guitars, on which they began to write their own songs.
